Former Austinite Andrew Maraniss will discuss his book “Strong Inside: Perry Wallace and the Collision of Race and Sports in the South.” Wallace, now a professor of law at American University in Washington, DC, was the first African American basketball player in the Southeastern Conference, playing at Vanderbilt in the late 1960s.
