Texas Observer reporter Melissa del Bosque will discuss her article “Checkpoint Nation” with Harper’s Magazine associate editor Rachel Poser. The article, a collaboration between the two magazines, examines the border zone—a buffer of about 100 miles that runs along any U.S. border—where U.S. Customs and Border Protection has been given the freedom to trample on constitutional rights in the name of security.
