“Just Outside Redemption” is a new play by Dennis Bailey that tells the story of the efforts of Dianne Hardy-Garcia, the Lesbian/Gay Rights Lobby of Texas, and the gay community for an inclusive hate crimes law. The play dramatizes the personal, professional, and political struggles involved in the fight to include sexual orientation in a bill that became the James Byrd Jr. Hate Crimes Act.
The Opening Gala will be Friday, September 14. The play will be performed Thursday through Sunday evenings from September 13-30.
The production is a collaboration between Theatre en Bloc and Equality Texas.
