More than 350 formerly incarcerated community members, their families, and advocates from around the state will march, rally, and visit legislators at the Texas Capitol, demanding that communities impacted most deeply by deportation and incarceration policies be consulted in a meaningful way when policies are written, amended, or enacted. Texas Advocates for Justice rejects laws and policies that encourage incarceration before treatment, criminalize migrant families, and block people with criminal convictions from a fair shot at getting professional licenses and certifications.
