“Above All Else” is a firsthand account of activists on the front line of the climate fight. Shot in the forests, pastures, and living rooms of rural East Texas, the film follows David Daniel, a retired stunt man and high-wire artist, as he rallies neighbors and activists to block the Keystone XL oil pipeline.
A reception begins at 6:30 pm with the screening at 7pm, to be followed by a brief conversation with the director John Fiege.
The screening is part of the “Controversy & Conversation” series, a collaboration between the Austin Public Library and the Humanities Institute’s Difficult Dialogues Program at the University of Texas. More information online.
