IfNotNow Austin and the American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee-Austin Chapter are sponsoring a reading and talk by journalist Cate Malek, co-editor of the oral history Palestine Speaks: Narratives of Life Under Occupation. Through stories culled from everyday life, this collection approaches the longstanding political and moral crisis of the Israeli occupation of Palestine from a human scale.
Malek is a journalist based in Austin, where she is pursuing her MA in journalism and Middle Eastern studies. She has reported, taught, and done NGO work in Bethlehem, and received multiple Colorado Press Association awards before moving to Austin.
