Grassroots Leadership and Texans United for Families will be leading a second vigil and protest outside of the IAH Polk Secure Adult Detention Center calling for its immediate closure. The Polk County center is one of the worst immigrant prisons in the U.S., with acute and chronic human rights violations.

This event is part of the Detention Watch Network’s “Expose and Close” campaign, a national effort highlighting 10 of the worst U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement detention facilities in the nation and demanding their closure. A charter bus will go from Austin to Livingston to protest outside of the facility and return that evening.
