Time: 7:00 pm  to  8:30 pm

Austin’s Decoding Porn group will screen author Gail Dines’ documentary “Pornland: How the Porn Industry had Hijacked our Sexuality” and lead a discussion of the film’s argument that modern pornography is not about sexual liberation and expression, but instead encourages sexism and aggression. The film includes frank discussions of sexual violence.

More information online or by contacting decodingporn@gmail.com. The trailer for the film is online.

For a thoughtful perspective on the Austin screening of Dines’ “Pornland,” which was cancelled under pressure and then re-scheduled for April 16, see Sarah Ditum’s “Why I changed my mind about porn.”
