Texas Farmers’ Market and Austin Resource Recovery are hosting a screening of “Wasted! The Story of Food Waste,” executive produced by Anthony Bourdain. The movie aims to change the way people buy, cook, recycle, and eat food, showing how the world’s most influential chefs make the most of every kind of food, transforming what most people consider scraps into dishes that creating a more secure food system. Following the screening there will be a panel discussion with Joe Diffie of Joe’s Organics, Jessica Brown of TFM’s composting program, and Austin Resource Recovery, moderated by Kate Payne, executive director of TFM.
Proceeds from the event will benefit the Texas Farmers’ Market Agricultural Producer Support Fund. More information and tickets online.
