Beverly Wright, a professor of sociology at Dillard University in New Orleans and the founding director of the Deep South Center for Environmental Justice, will speak in the Shades of Green Learning Series. Wright’s presentation will focus on how the pipeline from education to employment in the environmental sector can become more racially inclusive.
The series is designed to facilitate discussion about racism, diversity, equity, and inclusion and to create a safe space for exploring how the predominately white environmental movement in Austin can become more collaborative across differences in race and class.
