Writer and progressive activist Tom Hayden will speak on “The Drug War, the Peace Movement, and the Legacy of Port Huron.” Hayden, who was a founder of Students for a Democratic Society and primary author of the Port Huron Statement, later served for nearly two decades in the California legislature and has taught at a variety of universities. The $5 suggested donation will benefit the New Journalism Project, publisher of The Rag Blog.
