Gail Tyree will talk about her work with Grassroots Leadership and her journey as an activist and a Presbyterian. Tyree, a recipient of a 2011 Soros Justice Fellowship, is working to help create a network of organizations and individuals in the southeast U.S. who want to stop for-profit prisons, jails, or detention centers from moving into their communities. She is a board member of the Mississippi Immigrant Rights Alliance and lives in Southaven, MS.

This talk, co-sponsored by the seminary and Grassroots Leadership, will be followed by light refreshments.
