Allan Boesak was a leading figure in the struggle against apartheid in South Africa as a founder of the United Democratic Front.  A theology professor at Stellenbosch University in South Africa, Boesak has done pioneering work on liberation theology. His latest book is Radical Reconciliation: Beyond Political Pietism and Christian Quietism.

Boesak’s talk will be followed by a panel discussion with Rep. Senfronia Thompson of the Texas House of Representatives, (D-Houston); the Rev. Joseph C. Parker, the senior pastor of David Chapel Missionary Baptist Church in Austin; and the Rev. Jim Rigby, pastor of St. Andrews Presbyterian Church, Austin.
