The most recent installment of KLRU’s Austin Revealed series, “Chicano Civil Rights,” explores the struggle of the Chicano movement of the ‘60s and ‘70s and shows how the Mexican-American community of Austin united to fight for quality education, equal representation, and respect for their diverse culture. The discussion following the screening will feature some of the people from the film, including Gilbert Rivera and Modesta Treviño, along with filmmaker Joe Rocha.
