Former guerrilla commander Salvador Sanchez Ceren won a close run-off election in March to became president-elect of El Salvador. While the election was declared the most open and transparent in its history, right-wing forces in El Salvador and the United States are trying to de-legitimize the election.

Three election observers from Austin—Jennifer Long, Vic Hinterlang, and Matt Gossage—will give a multi-media report on their experience and facilitate a discussion on the history and current politics of El Salvador, and the ongoing calls for solidarity with El Salvador.
