David Orr,  a professor of Environmental Studies and Politics at Oberlin College, will speak about ways to prepare, absorb, and recover from unpredictable ecological disruptions caused by climate change. Orr is the author of several books, including Down to the Wire: Confronting Climate Collapse and Earth in Mind: On Education, Environment, and the Human Prospect.

Orr’s talk is part of the “Hot Science/Cool Talks” series sponsored by the University of Texas’ Environmental Science Institute.
