Shubhranshu Choudhary—founder of CGNetSwara, the world’s first mobile phone-based community news network—will discuss his experiment with democratic communication and citizen journalism among disenfranchised and rural villagers in India’s Central tribal region. Choudhary worked with British Broadcasting Corporation as a South Asia producer for more than a decade. In 2014, he won a Google Digital Activism award and was named one of the 100 Leading Global Thinkers by Foreign Affairs magazine.
