The Lynching Remembrance Project for Travis County will unveil an historical marker that honors the unnamed victims of racial terror lynchings in the county, acknowledges the horrors of racial injustice, and confronts the ongoing racial inequality. This is a part of a larger Remembrance Project sponsored by the Equal Justice Initiative, a nonprofit human rights and legal services organization in Montgomery, AL, founded by Bryan Stevenson.

The ceremony will include music, speakers, a presentation of the winners of a high school essay contest, followed by a reception. These events are hosted by the Austin NAACP and Wesley United Methodist Church.
