Russell Maroon Shoatz, a leader in the Black Liberation Movement in Philadelphia, has been a political prisoner for more than 30 years, including two decades in solitary confinement. Maroon the Implacable: The Collected Writings of Russell Maroon Shoatz is the first published collection of his accumulated written works, and also includes new essays written for this volume.
His daughter, Theresa Shoatz, and co-editor Quincy Saul will be on a panel to discuss the book, which is just out from PM Press.
The $20 admission includes a copy of the book; $10 without the book.
