Rootwork and Food for Black Thought are sponsoring a holistic workshop that includes an opening meditation and drum circle, yoga, a pop-up collaborative art studio, and an interactive panel with local community builders of color.

The event marks the official launch of Black Gaia™, a program and curriculum that hosts holistic outdoor hikes and visits to local sustainable farms. The program curricula combines tools for mindful living with the environmental and agricultural history of Black Diaspora communities.

Through workshops and retreats, Rootwork helps individuals and groups “get rooted”: de-stressed, centered, connected with ancestors, in touch with nature, and in tune with community. FFBT hosts screenings, events, and trainings focused on Black experiences with food and the food system, past and present.
