“Blindspotting” is a portrait of the Oakland community and a searing indictment of police violence, racism, and gentrification. Convicted felon Collin (Daveed Diggs) is finishing his probation period when his life shatters. Heading home for his curfew, Collin becomes the sole witness to a white police officer killing a black citizen. To make matters worse, his childhood friend, Miles (Rafael Casal), is on a dangerous path of recklessness and anger. An explosive confrontation could put both of them away.

This special screening includes a discussion after the film with Farah Muscadin, Police Monitor for the City of Austin; Quincy Dunlap, Executive Director of the Austin Area Urban League; Lindsey Leaverton, Vice President at BB&T Wealth; Singer/Songwriter; Zell Miller, III; and moderator Kazique Prince, Founder and CEO of Jelani Consulting.

The Alamo Drafthouse will donate $3 for each ticket sold to the Austin Area Urban League, which provides tools to African Americans and under-served populations to build a foundation for social and economic equality. Tickets are available online.
