The Friends of the Austin Community Law Center are sponsoring a training about organizing and legal action, with a focus on protecting workers’ rights in the restaurant industry and combating housing discrimination against people with a conviction history.
Speakers include: Shoshana Krieger, Project Director Building and Strengthening Tenant Action (BASTA) at Texas Rio Grande Legal Aid; Stephanie Gharakhanian, Special Counsel at the Workers Defense Project; Braden Latham-Jones, Communications and District Relations Director for Austin City Council Member Greg Casar; Fred Freiberg, Executive Director, Fair Housing Justice Center; and Aaron Johnson, Staff Attorney, Equal Justice Center.
The summit is approved by the State Bar of Texas for continuing legal education credits. More information and registration online.
