Eliot Tretter will read from his new book, Shadows of a Sunbelt City. Austin is depicted as one of the urban success stories of the past half century, a place that has grown through “creative class” strategies that emphasize diversity and environmental consciousness. Tretter reinterprets this story by exploring the racial and ecological underpinnings of the postindustrial knowledge economy.
