Date: January 6, 2018
Time: 2:00 pm  to  4:30 pm

What does separation of church and state mean in today’s world? How should voters resolve conflicts between partisan interests and religious beliefs? Should church donations be tax-deductible? What does the 1954 Johnson Amendment to the U.S. Tax Code say, and what would be the consequences of its repeal?

The panel to discuss these issues will include the Rev. Brian Ferguson, Wildflower Unitarian Universalist Church; the Rev. Mary Wilson, Church of the Savior; Rabbi Neil Blumofe, Congregation Agudas Achim; and Sheikh Yassir Fazaga, Islamic Center of Brushy Creek

The event is sponsored by Common Ground for Texans, a nonpartisan nonprofit based in Austin, Texas.

Location: Old Quarry Library, 7051 Village Center Dr., Austin 78731
