Tane Ward, an Anthropology/Native American and Indigenous Studies Ph.D. candidate at the University of Texas, reports back from research with the Iku pueblo of the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta in northern Colombia. Ward will focus on indigenous resistance to megaprojects (mines, dams, ports and other state-sponsored development projects), critiquing the liberal rights paradigm and focusing on anti-state/anti-capitalist decolonization as a form of solidarity.
