Friends and comrades of longtime Austin radical activist Ran Moran will celebrate his life with a memorial gathering. Austin activists know Ran from his tireless work for social justice in the antiwar movement, labor struggles, and Palestinian rights. Ran’s steadfast presence at organizing meetings, protests, and programs was an inspiration to others. His sense of humor and dancing livened up many gatherings.

Ran, who had Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s for the past few years, died suddenly on December 16 of cardiac arrest.

Because many people will want to remember Ran, the gathering will start promptly to allow as many as possible to speak.

Anyone wishing to make a contribution to honor Ran should make it to the 5604 Manor capital campaign, by check at the event or online.

For more information, contact Ran’s wife, Bernice Hecker, at bernran@aol.com.
