A rally in solidarity with the movement to stop the Dakota Access Pipeline (DAPL) will call on President Obama to instruct the Army Corps of Engineers to revoke the permits for this dirty oil pipeline. That Standing Rock Sioux Tribe has led opposition to the project.
Energy Transfer Partners, the company behind the DAPL pipeline, is based in Dallas and has a government affairs office in downtown Austin. Energy Transfer also is responsible for the Trans-Pecos pipeline, a controversial 148-mile gas pipeline through unspoiled areas of West Texas into Mexico.
